Venucia launches a new hybrid SUV with 1,132 km of range

Automaker Venucia has added a PHEV variant to its V Online lineup. In China, the crossover SUV is known as ‘DD-i Super Hybrid’ and costs from 118,900 Yuan to preorder.

Compared to its petrol-only counterpart (see video), the plug-in hybrid sports revised headlights, bumper and front grille pattern. The rear end stays nearly unchanged. Inside, there is a single trapezoid cowl bringing together the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. The only change here is a new transmission selector on the center console.

The powertrain consists of a petrol turbo-four engine rated at 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) and an electric motor capable of 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). There are two battery sizes to choose from, 10.3 and 18.4 kilowatt-hours. In all-electric mode, the SUV covers no more than 100 km (62 miles) of NEDC-rated range, but fill up the tank, and the total goes up to 1,132 km (703 miles).
