Volkswagen has shared another teaser pic of the upcoming Amarok pickup set to debut on July 7, 2022.
The image shows a rear end with LED taillights and two badges: 4x4 and V6. The latter is intriguing, because the new Amarok is technically based on the Ford Ranger chassis and tech. As such, it could ship with the Ranger’s 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder engine.
At the same time, Volkswagen also has a diesel V6 with the same displacement, so it might as well want to prioritize its own tech over the Ford design. Furthermore, the German automaker has a gasoline V6 turbo on the lineup as well. In the United States, where the memories of the Dieselgate are still fresh, it may opt for petrol instead of diesel.
This leaves us with more questions than answers, but everything should become clear when the pickup debuts in a month.
