This SylvanSport-made van has 645 km (400 miles) of battery range

Electric RVs aren’t exactly a new idea, but building one with enough driving range can be challenging. Zeus Electric Chassis, Inc. worked together with SylvanSport to design an all-electric camper capable of covering 645 km (400 miles) on a single charge.

The car itself is featured in our gallery here, while the attached video shows SylvanSport’s most popular product. The camper is still a concept and has no production name, but the company wants to produce a whole line of electric motorhomes based on it. It even has a motto: ‘Leading the Charge’.

The preliminary specifications include per-wheel suspension at both ends and a duo of liquid-cooled AC motors with permanent magnets and 295 hp (220 kW) of combined output. The trailer and the car sum up to 14,000 lbs (6,350 kilograms).

Battery size remains undiscussed, but the company claims drivers will be able to recharge it ‘reasonably fast’. A physical prototype of the car should debut either in late 2021 or in early 2022.
