BMW Manufaktur helps Alpina retire the XB7

After incorporating Alpina into itself, the Bavarian automaker decided to sunset the tuning company’s XB7 crossover based on the BMW X7. Before the five-year production cycle can come to an end, however, it will culminate in a launch of a special edition co-designed with the automaker’s Manufaktur division.

Buyers will be choosing from two exclusive exterior shades, Frozen Blue and Frozen Green. Most exterior trim will be blacked out, and the SUV will ride on unique 23-inch wheels. There will also be the usual special badges and plaques, but no customizable options aside from the color.

In turn, the interior will enjoy some special embroidery and badging along with a particularly high-end audio system provided by Bowers&Wilkins. Every car will ship with a couple of hand-sewn travel bags in the trunk.

Only 120 units will be made exclusively for the United States and Canada. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 will continue its duty in tandem with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending 631 PS (631 hp / 471 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels.

The asking price in the U.S. is fixed at $180,000.
