Audi CEO admitted that the company wanted its sports cars to make a comeback, but not while the financial indicators are in the red.
Recent rumors posted across a number of European media claimed that the Ingolstadt company was busy developing a successor to the iconic R8 coupe. It would allegedly be a technical twin of the part-electric Lamborghini Temerario – and a closer one at that than all previous Audi supercars.
Speaking in a recent interview, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner didn’t directly confirm these rumors but said that a new entry in the Audi TT lineup was indeed being considered. He emphasized that the company had to straighten out its financial performance before talking about any new vehicle plans.
