2011 BMW M3 Frozen Black Edition fetches $50k in the States

This 10-year-old BMW M3 Coupe (E92) is one out of only 20 examples for North America finished in Frozen Black.

The matte blackness covers nearly any detail of it, only leaving the badges, BMW logos and brake calipers intact. The same applies to the interior, which is blacked out with only some contrasting stitching on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard and other elements.

The E92 coupe, E93 convertible and E90 sedan were the last M3 models to make use of a naturally aspirated engine, specifically a four-liter V8 mated to a six-speed manual or DCT transmission (the latter is the case here). The car can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.6 seconds. Aftermarket parts on this specific example boil down to a zero-drag air filter and an Akrapovič exhaust.

The car was bought new in Canada and imported into the USA four years after. It has around 34,000 km (21,125 miles) under its belt and has barely been driven by its latest owner prior to the auction (4,800 km / 3,000 miles).
