Manhart unleashes the 800-PS BMW M5 CS

Around three months ago, a hardcore BMW M5 CS was spotted on the streets with Manhart tuning on (see video). We thought it could be a one-off example with 750 horsepower or so under the hood, but the reality turned out more interesting.

The tuning shop has now released the car, which it calls the MH5 GTR, for everyone interested. The key upgrade concerns the drivetrain, dialing up the output of the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 935 Nm (690 lb-ft) of torque. This necessitates replacing a number of intake and exhaust components, as well as installing an auxiliary ECU named MHtronik.

Those who would like to use their M5 CS for track days exclusively may opt for cat and filter deletion, KW Variant 4 coilovers and heavy-duty brakes, although the company  stresses that the stock brakes are fully adequate as is. Rounding off the mods is a set of silver-grey matte alloys sized 21 inches in diameter and 9/10.5 inches wide (front/rear).

The prices are not public.
