2025 BMW X3 gains a powerful turbo option

BMW has announced the X3 40d xDrive, the most capable diesel version of its X3 crossover so far.

It comes equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine and receives assistance from a 48V mild-hybrid system. The combined output comes to 303 PS (299 hp / 223 kW) and 670 Nm (494 lb-ft) of torque.

This allows the car to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds and attain a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph). Fuel economy averages at 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers, which converts into 35.1 miles per U.S. gallon.

This diesel-electric version of the X3 will go into production at the BMW factory in Rosslyn, South Africa.
