Next-gen BMW X5 interior leaks online

The new X5 will look much like the recently unveiled iX3 on the inside, claims Carscoops posting the first interior spy photo of the SUV. Another handful of shots suggests that the model will have Neue Klasse headlights when it debuts in 2026.

Back in September, BMW shared a few images of a disguised X5 equipped with standard round headlamps. In contrast to that early version, the pre-production test vehicle in the gallery above seems to have market-ready DRLs with V-shaped sections, just like the iX3. It also sports very similar-looking taillight patterns – not the same, but instantly recognizable.

Most of the interior is draped over, but you can still discern the main controls. Like its junior cousin, the new X5 has a Panoramic iDrive display stretching the entire width of the dash under the windshield. It also features an infotainment screen that appears rectangular, but installed into an irregular frame like in the iX3. Last but not least, the steering wheel is new and the buttons on it seem different.

A couple of months ago, we learned from BMW that the new X5 would eventually get a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain – but those interested in it would have to wait another couple of years for the production to start. In contrast, the standard SUV will be unveiled sometime in 2026, although the exact date remains to be announced. It will be obtainable with petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrain options.
