BMW has added the XM Label Red flagship to the configurator app available across its official websites – and the list of options is surprisingly modest for the niche it is in. In the United States, ticking all boxes adds a meager $12,549 to the total.
The soft-roader starts from around $185,000 on the North American market, meaning you can grab all the bells and whistles for an extra 7%. It costs the same regardless of the exterior finish, whether or not you choose red accents and what look you prefer for the stock 22-inch wheels.
The brake calipers can be blue or red, but you don’t pay extra for either option. The interior comes trimmed with leather and carbon fiber and only lists one paid extra – a $3,400 Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
Then there is the $2,500 M Driver’s Package that lifts the top speed from 270 to 290 km/h (from 167 to 180 miles per hour) and comes with a single-day driving course. Rounding off the list are five maintenance and service programs priced from $850 to $6,649. Opting for the most expensive option extends warranty from 3 to 7 years, aside from providing other benefits.
The resulting grand total of $198,544 already includes the $995 destination fee.
