To provide some company for its all-electric SUV named Avatr 11 (see video), Changan will soon introduce a fastback called simply the 12. Here are its first images from the patent database. The sales launch remains scheduled for Q3 2023.
According to the patent filings, the top specification will command 578 PS (570 hp / 425 kW) from multiple motors. Those in the market for a simpler one-motor version will still get a healthy 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW).
The exterior styling looks in agreement with the model number 11, but with its own quirks. Note in particular the C-shaped headlights and video cameras instead of mirrors. To aggravate things, the car has an opaque panel instead of the rear windshield. A large sunroof compensates for that to a certain extent, but the whole still looks unusual.
The model 12 will be 5,020 mm long with 3,020 mm of wheelbase, the patent application states. The buyers will be choosing between 20- and 21-inch wheels.
