Citroen Berlingo MPV dresses up for its 30th birthday

Citroen unveiled its Berlingo minivan in 1996, and has since sold over 4.2 million units spread across three generations worldwide. The model is turning 30 this year, so it’s time for an anniversary special.

On the outside, the Berlingo 30 Years Edition is only recognizable by the number 30 on its a-pillars and new 16-inch Chaves wheels sporty a glossy black finish. Other than that, it doesn’t look much different from the stock MPV at all.

The cabin gets trimmed to a spec that’s higher than Plus but below Max. Buyers in Europe can look forward to a couple of 10-inch displays on the dash, a heated leather steering wheel, folding side mirrors and a reversing camera. Note that only the passenger variant of the Berlingo is available in this trim; the LCV is missing out.

For the drivetrain, you can pick any engine and transmission currently available in the EU. Aside from the traditional ICE variants running on petrol and diesel, there’s the e-Berlingo driven by a single e-motor rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). As usual, FWD is your only option.

Prices for the 30 Years Edition start from €27,320 in Germany. The priciest powertrain will set you back €39,570.
