Ferrari unveils the Amalfi, a coupe-shaped Roma replacement

The entry-level sports car will reach production in late 2025.

Like the Roma, the Amalfi comes equipped with a 3.9-liter engine mounted behind the front axle. It takes advantage of improved turbos capable of reaching 171,000 RPM, a state-of-the-art ECU, a better machined cylinder unit and lighter distribution shafts. The company also changed the oil to a less viscous variety, installed a new active-valve exhaust system and topped things off with a high-end ceramic catalyst coated with rhodium, platinum and palladium.

The V8 uses a tuned version of the SF90 Stradale’s eight-speed multi-clutch transmission to deliver the power. It now produces 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque – a 20-PS (20-hp / 15-kW) gain over the Roma, while the torque stays the same. The car weighs 1,470 kilos (3,240 lbs), so it hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds and doubles that acceleration in 9 seconds. The top speed lies at 320 km/h (199 mph).

The wheelbase stays the same at 2,670 mm (104.3 inches), but the Amalfi benefits from a larger rear diffuser, a reshaped undercarriage an active spoiler. When fully extended, the spoiler generates up to 110 kg (242.5 lbs) of extra downforce.

Inside, the awkwardly wide transmission tunnel is gone, replaced with a more normal version. The head unit is now horizontal instead of vertical and measures 10.25 inches corner-to-corner. The dashboard is 15.6 inches large and the front passenger’s screen is the smallest of the three at 8.8 inches of diagonal size. Buyers who mind the capacitive controls on the steering wheel can now order an alternate wheel with retro buttons.

On the tech side of things, Ferrari mentions a brake-by-wire feature and a completely recalibrated steering mechanism. Options include a front axle lift, 10-point massage seats, a 14-channel Burmeister audio system and a slew of driving assists. Adaptive cruise control and emergency braking are already included with the car, but you may opt for rear traffic warning and 360-degree cameras, just to name a few.
