$130k buys you a Ferrari 246 GT Dino, but there’s a catch

Owning a genuine Ferrari 246 GT Dino (see video) in good condition is a matter of half a million USD or more, but the example seen here goes for a modest $129,500. Of course, that’s only because it had burned down completely and may no longer be salvageable.

The seller claims that the car still retains its engine and transmission. However, the listing fails to mention the cause of the fire. Aside from a charred, largely destroyed body, the Italian classic has some visible dents that suggest a prior crash. Furthermore, the engine bay looks every bit as bad as the bodywork and may also be scrap press material at this point.

Ferrari devised its Dino lineup to compete with the Porsche 911. It received its name from the son of Enzo Ferrari who died of illness at the age of 24. The Dino lineup consisted of such iconic vehicles as the 206 GT, the 246 GT and the 308 GT. The 246 GT shipped in coupe and Spider flavors and usually received a 2.4-liter V6 for propulsion.
