Ferrari F50 Targa with a celebrity background crops up on sale again

At the Monterey Car Week on August 13–15, RM Sotheby’s will attempt to find a new owner for this 1995 Ferrari F50 supercar originally owned by Mike Tyson. The legendary boxer’s gloves bearing his autograph are included in the lot.

The car itself comes finished in Ferrari Red with a removable roof section and a predominantly black interior interspersed with red accents. It relies on its original 4.7-liter V12 to send 520 PS (513 hp / 382 kW) to the wheels. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.7 seconds, and the top speed lies at 325 km/h (202 mph).

Despite its long ownership record, this F50 is a lesser-used example with only around 10,000 kilometers (6,200 miles) under its belt. Back in 2008, it received Ferrari Classiche Red Book certificates of authenticity for its engine, transmission, chassis, and bodywork. Helping its cause is the fact that only 55 such vehicles were made for the North American market.

Based on the above, RM Sotheby’s reckons it can expect a deal in the 7–9 million USD range.
