Old, used Ford F-250 gets restomodded into The Ranch Truck

This Ford F-250 first saw the daylight in 1972 and has covered almost 120,000 kilometers (70,000 miles) since then. Thanks to Washington-based tuner Heavy Metal Custom Shops, the iconic truck lives again as a restomod named The Ranch Truck.

The company decided against restoring the battered original chassis and instead replaced it with the platform sourced from an F-250 produced in 2002. The latter came equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission and a 7.3-liter Powerstroke turbo diesel engine rated at 275 hp (205 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. The crew shortened the cab by 20 centimeters (~8 inches) and fitted it onto new, specially designed mounting points for rigidity.

During the large-scale conversion, the truck gained many modern features, such as the Firestone Ride Rite air suspension for the rear axle, limited-slip differentials, a transfer gearbox, and 17-inch beadlock wheels with meaty all-terrain tires wrapped around them.

Inside, the tuner went to great lengths to faithfully recreate the 1970s era mood while adding such modern tech as a high-end audio set with a subwoofer, a digital dashboard tucked behind an analog dash panel, enhanced noise proofing, and more.

Well, it seems like Heavy Metal Custom Shops has a world-class ranch truck right here! Wouldn’t you agree?
