Kia Telluride Mk2 previewed ahead of LA show debut

The U.S. office of Kia has posted some nice photos of the second-generation Telluride SUV bound for this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.

According to the automaker, the bold and somewhat clunky design of the model represents the next evolutionary step of the company’s design language, Opposites United. It looks nothing like its predecessor with lots of straight or gently curved lines, a radiator grille with multiple vertical slats, and triangular inserts above the wheel arches. The headlights are tall and modular, the c-pillars are slanted and there is a spoiler in the back. The door handles are installed flush with the body, and wheels come in sizes ranging from 18 to 21 inches.

The new Telluride is also 57 mm (2.2 in) longer and 25 mm (1 in) taller than its predecessor with approximately 75 mm (3 in) of added wheelbase. The exact dimensions are pending, but Kia claims all the extra millimeters go into adding interior legroom and headroom, as well as improving the convenience of getting in and out of the car.

Based on the interior shots, there is a rather flat dashboard with a single large touchscreen array running from the left to the middle of the panel. In keeping with the latest trends, the transmission selector now resides at the steering wheel and the HVAC panel has some nice-looking physical buttons instead of a haptic UI. Kia also mentions improved trim materials, new color combos and a whole new set of trunk accessories ranging from simple organizers and spacers to a folding picnic table.

Those who decide to invest in the off-road-focused X-Pro modification will get extra ground clearance, a different radiator grille, heavy-duty roof rails and all-terrain tires. It’s already official that the maximum clearance amounts to 231 mm (9 inches). Some of the exterior trim will be blacked out if you opt for this package.

Sales in the United States will begin in the first quarter of 2026.
