Next-gen Lancia Ypsilon previewed via first official pics

Lancia has shared some images of the next Ypsilon generation set to debut in February 2024 and mark the renaissance of the long-dormant Italian car brand.

The photos depict a draped-over car shot from the front and also a close-up of a certain interior detail. The exterior is largely undecipherable, but at least you can see a sharp crease running around the front bumper. As for the cabin, the blue detail is most likely a folding table or a part of the transmission tunnel. The company calls it ‘Tavolino’.

The new Ypsilon will debut in a special edition named Edizione Limitata Cassina, which has been co-designed with Italian luxury furniture manufacturer, Cassina. The two companies have already worked together on the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE Concept, so this won’t be their first time. A total of 1,906 such vehicles will be made in reference to the founding year of Lancia.

When the Ypsilon goes on sale, it will do so with all-electric and hybrid powertrain options to choose between. It will thus simultaneously be Lancia’s first EV and last ICE car.

The sales in Europe remain penciled in for the next summer.
