Lexus TX debuts with 3 seat rows, up to 412 PS of hybrid power

The stretched Lexus RX L is no longer relevant as a new full-size crossover SUV named the TX comes to take up its place in the lineup. Despite technically being a twin of the Toyota Grand Highlander, it boasts all-original bodywork and interior.

Starting on the outside, the TX has the signature Lexus grille finished to match the rest of the body, as well as a single solid taillight at the rear end. The wheels are sized 20 inches across by default, but there is an option for 22-inch ones.

The interior offers seven seats arranged in three rows, but you can order the middle-row bench replaced with two separate seats supporting power adjustments, ventilation and heating. The dashboard is digital and sized 12.3 inches across, while the infotainment system has a 14-inch touchscreen display. All of it is included in the base trim level.

Customers can choose from three available AWD powertrains. The base option is a 2.4-liter turbo-four mill rated at 279 PS (275 hp / 205 kW). Adding an electric motor to the same engine results in 371 PS (366 hp / 273 kW) heading to the wheels. If you need top-notch performance, a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid with 412 PS (406 hp / 303 kW) has you covered. All-electric driving range doesn’t exceed 53 kilometers (33 miles), though.

Sales in the United States are set to begin in the fall.
