Mazda will be adding a new crossover SUV to its portfolio later this year. Dubbed the CX-80, it is essentially a CX-60 (see video) with an extra row of seats. Here are some spy shots.
The camouflage is rather extensive, but it cannot conceal the telltale CX-60 body shape. Chances are good that the interior will remain largely untouched, too, with 12.3-inch displays for the dash gauges and the infotainment system.
Back when the CX-60 debuted, it did so with a 2.5-liter electrified four-cylinder engine under the hood making 327 PS (323 hp / 241 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The CX-80 may wind up with the same hybrid powertrain, although it might also get Mazda’s 3.0-liter petrol V6 or 3.3-liter diesel. All details remain to be announced.
