Movie-starring Porsche 928 to go on sale this fall

Barrett-Jackson will be selling a rare Porsche 928 coupe that starred in the 1983 young adult comedy ‘Risky Business; with Tom Cruise.

The story follows a high-school student as he drives his father’s car and keeps getting in trouble for all kinds of silly reasons. The filming crew used multiple 928s for production, but the seller claims that the one heading to the block now has gotten the most screen time. It was also the car Tom Cruise learned to drive stick on.

Porsche unveiled the 928 model in 1977. Designed for the United States, it came powered by a 4.5-liter V8 rated at 222 PS (219 hp / 163 kW). It needed 6.5 seconds to get from zero to 97 km/h (60 mph) and topped out at 230 km/h (143 mph).
