The long-anticipated Cayenne Electric will break cover online next Wednesday, November 19, and will then attend the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai on November 22–23. It will be exhibited live with the media and the brand fans welcome to come check it out.
Porsche sometimes teases technical details in announcements like these, but this wasn’t the case this time around. All the company wants us to know is that the battery-powered Cayenne delivers “impressive dynamic performance, long-distance comfort, elevated off-road capabilities and the latest in energy efficiency.” The description once again stresses that the gas-powered and hybrid Cayenne lineup isn’t going anywhere – it will continue to be available side-by-side with the EV version.
In an earlier communication, the German sports car maker revealed that it had developed a whole new platform for the Cayenne Electric. The company also came up with highly efficient electric motors capable of outputting more than 1,000 PS (986 hp / 738 kW) in the top spec. Optimized and faster-charging batteries were also mentioned. Lastly, the interior of the SUV was teased with a curved display and numerous power/heating options included in the base spec.
