Renault passes 4M cars assembled in Brazil

The French car marque is celebrating four million vehicles made at its factory in São José dos Pinhais Municipality of Brazil.

The industrial complex was commissioned 26 years ago. It presently produces light passenger and commercial cars for the South American region. Out of the 4,000,000 cars made thus far, around 3,000,000 went on sale in Brazil proper, while another 1,000,000 went on exports.

The milestone vehicle turned out to be a Renault Kardian, an SUV-like hatchback. The factory employees made a group photo next to it – you’ll find it in the gallery below.

In the meantime, a Renault powertrain factory situated near the main assembly complex has churned out more than 5,000,000 car engines.
