Rolls-Royce Spectre gets a facelift, sets a new performance bar for the brand

The British luxury automaker’s firstborn EV – the Spectre – has now been updated to Series II with new and improved motors, extended battery range and more lavish interior trim options to choose from.

The coupe now sends 601 PS (53 hp / 442 kW) and up to 1,015 Nm (749 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, 17 horsepower and 115 Newton-meters more than it originally did. It now needs 4.5 seconds to go from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph).

The range-topping Black Badge spec has also been updated, now making 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint time goes down to sporty 4.3 seconds. Rolls-Royce points out that it never had a production vehicle as powerful as this on offer before.

The battery pack has been overhauled as well with next-generation power cells and higher energy density, extending the range per charge to 628 kilometers, or 390 miles. Owners should also appreciate 14% faster charging. On the exterior side of things, the car hasn’t changed much aside from new 23-inch wheels and a couple of added finishes.

Things look more exciting in the cabin, which can now be ordered in Duality Twill textile trim combining viscose and bamboo fibers for a yacht-inspired aesthetic. Select surfaces can be trimmed with leather perforated with such precision that it can carry complex images. The car pictured in the gallery here is said to have more than 78,000 perforations in total. The head unit, the backlit dashboard and some trim materials are also new, with Rolls-Royce highlighting Brindled Walnut veneer.

All prices remain private. Unofficial reports suggest that the original Spectre EV has been available starting from U.S. $395,000 before options, with most owners optioning their examples straight into the $500,000–600,000 territory.
