Toyota promised to keep upgrading the GR Corolla in early 2025, and although there has been no official follow-up, Carscoops got ahold of some leaked photos and a video previewing an upcoming Corolla GRMN. It is expected to be formally announced at the end of the year, but let’s take a closer look while we can.
Judging by the images, the GRMN spec will be much sportier-looking than even the GR, largely thanks to a vented hood with a motor dome, vented fenders, new wheels and a large rear wing. At least some of the aero kit is made of carbon fiber.
The interior follows the same theme with a sports trim, bucket seats and a manual gear shifter. What remains unknown is what kind of powertrain it has. The already available GR Corolla comes equipped with a 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine producing 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). It can be ordered with either a manual or an automatic transmission and has AWD in both variants. The hardcore GRMN spec may get a further power boost alongside other tweaks.
