In June 2023, the North American branch of Toyota confirmed the comeback of the Land Cruiser in the United States. The company has now followed up with a couple of teaser images showing the new SUV standing next to the classic 40-Series off-roader.
Judging by the profile, the new U.S.-spec Cruiser is not a model number 300, but a next-gen Prado that we have yet to see. It is essentially a more budget-conscious spin on the Lexus GX, which you can find in the video below. The latest GX generation saw it ditch its naturally aspirated V8 in favor of a V6 TT and gain independent suspension.
The company has yet to reveal the premiere date, but media in Japan reported back in December that the new Prado would arrive in the summer with a hybrid powertrain under the hood.
