Ever since the latest, fifth generation of the Toyota Supra came out based on the BMW Z4 platform, fans have been actively comparing it against other BMWs to find proof that it was a standalone sports car free from the curse of badge engineering. A recent video by Sam CarLegion furthers the A90 Supra’s identity crisis by pitting it against a BMW 340i.
It is important to note that both vehicles were tuned to around 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) prior to the drag race, so there is no clear favorite in terms of power. The Toyota inches out a narrow advantage by its peak torque and weight, tipping the scales at 180 kg (400 pounds) less than the BMW. On the other hand, the 3-Series benefits from its xDrive AWD system, something the Japanese coupe lacks.
