Xpeng teases a full-size SUV cosplaying as a Range Rover wannabe

Xpeng, a Chinese automaker specializing in EVs, has posted the first images of its next full-size range-extended crossover – the GX. Once out and about, it will compete against the likes of Aito M9, Zeekr 9X, and the upcoming Lixiang L9.

According to CarNewsChina, the SUV spans over 5.2 meters (203 inches) long but lacks a frame that would make it an off-roader. It still does its best to copycat the current Range Rover with bulging wheel arches, boxy outlines and a spacious trunk area. Despite its clear premium positioning, it also foregoes a LiDAR in favor of the more traditional self-driving hardware like cameras and radars.

There are no cabin shots yet. The media in China speculate that the Xpeng GX is a three-row six-seater, but other layouts are possible, too. Unofficial reports say it has a projected HUD with Augmented Reality features instead of a conventional instrument cluster.

Full powertrain details are unknown, but we hear that the GX will support 400kW charging and do more than 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) per tank using its gas engine to generate more power on the go. We should be able to learn more at the Auto China show opening on April 24, 2026.

Prices may start from 400,000 CNY ($57,650), according to speculations.
