Chinese automaker Geely has announced that its Zeekr-badged electric liftback, the 001, managed to set a couple of Guinness Book records not long ago. The car showed the fastest drift and slalom speeds at CATARC racing course in China earlier this month.
The test drivr made a successful drift attempt at a record acceleration of 207.966 km/h (129.224 miles per hour). In the slalom test, the driver managed to pass 50 traffic cones set apart at equal distances in 49.05 seconds, never touching a single cone.
Powering the Zeekr 001 is a duo of electric motors jointly rated at 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) and 768 Nm (566 lb-ft) of torque. It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and maxes out above 200 km/h (124 mph).
Batteries come in sizes of 86 and 100 kilowatt-hours, the latter one NEDC-rated for 712 kilometers (442 miles) of driving range. Fast charging gets either battery from 10 to 80 percent in half an hour.
