Video: Bugatti testing its €8M hypercar in a wind tunnel

Bugatti has shared a new video on its YouTube channel featuring a Centodieci hypercar in an aerodynamic test facility.

The test environment comprises a wind tunnel, a fan 8 meters (26¼ feet) large, and a 9,300-horsepower (6,840-kW) engine driving the fan. Each test starts at 140 km/h (87 mph) and proceeds until 300 km/h (186 mph).

The Bugatti Centodieci debuted a few years ago as an anniversary model celebrating 110 years of Bugatti. It was styled after the EB110, another homage model issued back in the 1990s to mark 110 years since company founder Ettore Bugatti was born.

Back to the Centodieci, though. The car commands an eight-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine with 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque at the output end. It needs 2.4 seconds to go from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and only maxes out at 380 km/h (236 mph).

A total of ten such cars will be pieced together and sold starting from €8 million.
