Watchmaker Jacob&Co and car manufacturer Bugatti have a history of cooperation spanning years, and one of their recent works is a timepiece with a W16-shaped mechanism, called Chiron Tourbillon (see video). The companies have now re-released it in a gem-encrusted Molsheim Edition priced at an eye-watering $1,000,000.
The timepiece doesn’t just pay homage to the Chiron hypercar but also references the town of Molsheim, France, where the Bugatti HQ is located. The casing is adorned with French flag stripes formed from 149 rubies, 45 diamonds and 148 sapphires. The same stones are found on the hour markings and the minute hand. The casing itself is white gold.
Bugatti doesn’t say so explicitly, but the production run will likely be strictly limited.
