Chery has announced the preliminary pricing details for its Fengyun A8 Hybrid sedan also known as the Arrizo 8. The car will cost approximately 130,000–150,000 Yuan when it starts shipping in late January, but you can already make a pre-order.
Starting with the powertrain, it comprises a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a single electric motor. The former makes 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque, while the taller produces a superior 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) along with 310 Nm (229 lb-ft) of torque.
Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes seven seconds. An 18.3-kWh battery pack lets you drive up to 125 km (77.7 miles) in electric mode. Firing up the main engine extends the range to over 1,400 km (870 miles) with the average fuel economy of 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers (that’s 56 miles per gallon).
Compared to the standard Arrizo 8, the hybrid sports a different radiator grille, a slightly tweaked badge and new wheels. Its domestic base trim will include 17-inch wheels, 10 airbags and a Qualcomm 8155-powered infotainment system with a 24.6-inch twin-display setup. A Sony audio system, a wireless smartphone charger and a panoramic roof are included as well.
