Cars from the 1960s exude a special charm, but it’s one thing to admire one from a distance and another to drive one yourself, cursing the tricky handling and secretly wishing there were just a few modern conveniences thrown in. Those who would like to get the best of two worlds will know to appreciate retromods like this one.
Built by Karl Kustom Corvettes, it is a Chevrolet Corvette C6 with its body remodeled to look like the Corvette C2 Sting Ray. The tuning company did an impressive job with the front fascia, including chrome bumper trims, pop-up headlamps, elegantly sculpted quarter panels and a neat retro hood.
The side view is arguably a bit clunky with the doors, the pillars and the top staying stock, but the rear end is where the retro aesthetic shines bright again. Our favorite is the two-pane window, something that you just won’t find in modern-era cars. A 6.2-liter supercharged V8 sits under the hood and delivers the torque through a six-speed AT. The output is not specified.
