Feast your eyes on this Ferrari 488 one-off with a handcrafted, gilded body

Italy-based coachbuilder Touring Superleggera (not affiliated with Ferrari) continues churning out exquisite supercars called the Arese RH95 based on various Prancing Horses. The latest entry is called Vento D’Oro, which means “Golden Wind”.

Although not specifically mentioned anywhere, the donor car is obviously a Ferrari 488 GTB. The exterior is all-new and crafted from carbon fiber finished in a tint known as the White Morning Frost. Pure leaf-gold accents adorn the frunk and the engine lid, the side sills and the wheels and a host of smaller parts. Our personal favorite is perhaps the rear end, the entire upper half of which is blanketed with gold.

Inside, the entire trim is new as are the air vents and the center console design. Gold accents are rare here, but tastefully and elegantly placed.

Powering the supercar is a transaxle twin-turbo V8 rated at 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque, which corresponds to the stock 488 GTB specs. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends the momentum to the rear wheels, letting the car reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds and max out at 330 km/h (205 mph).

The Arese RH96 series will consist of 18 such hand-built vehicles. The Vento D’Oro is the fifth of them. Touring Superleggera said before that the prices would start from €1,580,000 including the vehicle and the work, but we can imagine this particular car being way more expensive still due to all the precious materials used throughout.
