Geely Emgrand reveals interior in gorgeous detail

The fifth-generation Geely Emgrand seems to retain the same interior layout, but the design, trim and multimedia features are all new. Let’s take a closer look while the launch date is still pending.

The Chinese premium sedan features large climate vents on the dash, a reshaped transmission tunnel and a redesigned center console. Contrary to the latest trends, the transmission selector still sits on the tunnel instead of the steering column, but it now looks much more elegant. Many buyers will also appreciate having physical buttons for most of the in-car functions. Based on the images, the steering wheel, the seats and the door panels have been reworked as well.

The head unit now measures 14.6 inches corner-to-corner, while the infotainment system runs the latest version of Flyme Auto OS. Perforated leather seems to be the standard trim.

As for the exterior, we’ve seen it multiple times before. The Mk5 Emgrand is sized much larger than its predecessor and ships with a new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine giving it 181 PS (179 hp / 133 kW) along with 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque. This new engine will be available exclusively with a seven-speed DCT, but it looks like other powertrains will be available as well. We should learn more in several days or weeks at most.
