Genesis GV90 flashes its rear at a camera person

As Genesis is inching closer to revealing its GV90 flagship, spy photographers have managed to track down one of the pre-production SUVs on the road. The Korean Car Blog posts a single photo and a video of the vehicle focusing on its large two-piece brake light spanning the entire width of the rear.

According to the website, the GV90 looked fully production-ready when it was spotted. This means that the production may begin in early 2026. Earlier sightings of the SUV suggest that it also has 22-inch wheels and rear-hinged “suicide” doors the likes of which you may see on a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Some have also reported a purple interior trim resembling that of the last year’s Genesis Neolun Concept.

Hyundai stays tight-lipped about the technical parameters. Rumors claim the car will be based on a platform called e-M, an improved version of the E-GMP chassis co-designed between Hyundai and Kia. The currently available Ioniq 9 and the Kia EV9 run on the same underpinnings. With the current market trends factored in, though, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the GV90 ship primarily as a hybrid. Furthermore, a full-electric version might not get released at all.

Feature-wise, the model is expected to ship with air-ride suspension and rear-wheel steering included as standard. It is also speculated to be over 5 meters (16.4 feet) long with either five or four seats in the cabin. Once out and about, the GV90 will compete in the same market as the Mercedes-Maybach EQS.
