2023 Hyundai Lafesta gets a sported-up N-Line version in China

Hyundai has previewed the facelifted Lafesta sedan for China coming with a revised exterior, new cabin features and a 1.5-liter four-pot engine replacing the outdated 1.6-liter mill. Buyers can also now opt for a trim called N-Line to get custom paint options and a body kit.

While the old engine was rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW), the new one is marginally below it with 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW). Th torque also went down from 265 to 253 Nm (from 195 to 187 lb-ft, respectively). The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission stayed as is.

On the outside, the sedan sports new bumpers and radiator grille that added 30 mm (1.2 inches) to its length. It is now 4,690 mm (183.2 inches) long with 2,700 mm (105.5 inches) between the axles.

Inside, a duo of 10.2-inch displays acts as the digital dashboard and infotainment system screens. The drive mode selector is now button-based, but the HVAC still offers classic hardware controls.

Those opting for the Lafesta N-Line get a body kit complete with a rear wing and seats with enhanced lateral support. For another premium, Hyundai will paint the car either in Gulf Oil colors or a combination of green and black. Both will be marked with the number 20 on the sides, acknowledging two decades of the Korean manufacturer’s presence on the market of China.
