Wonky Lancia Stratos lookalike being traded for $55k+

A Lancia Stratos replica built in the early 2010s by Lister Bell is on auction right now for $55,500 and counting. With less than 2,000 km (1,250 miles) under its belt, the car is in a decent state and packs an Italian V6.

Lister Bell built its ‘STR’ replicas on a custom chassis and space-frame using dual-wishbone suspension and glass-fiber bodywork. It put bucket seats in the cabin with four-point safety harnesses and allowed clients to customize the rest.

The example on sale has Fiat 124 analog instruments, a broken AC, satellite navigation and a reversing camera. The trim mostly uses Alcantara.

Back when the STR lineup was produced, the buyers could choose any engine ranging from a basic Toyota V6 to a high-end V8 from Maranello. This particular example was outfitted with a 3.0-liter V6, apparently sourced from an Alfa Romeo 164 (unconfirmed). The owner claims the engine has only recently been installed, leaving open the questions of what the original drivetrain was and what the car’s actual mileage is. The owner says he bought it as a DIY kit car a decade ago, but only got around to building it in 2017.

As shady as the deal may look to the more discerning buyers, the sports car has been commissioned for public road driving and comes with all the documents needed for dailying it.
