Video: Tesla Cybertruck races a tuned Mitsubishi Eclipse

The YouTube channel of Hoonigan, which has been posting lots of drag strip footage as of late, has decided to see if a Tesla Cybertruck would outrace a heavily tuned Mitsubishi Eclipse. Even with all the mods, the Eclipse falls behind the electric truck in terms of power. On the upside, it weighs less than a half as much.

Dual electric motors enable the Cybertruck to hit the wheels with a combined 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW). With a curb weight of 2,995 kilos (6,600 pounds), it is by no means light, but still manages to sprint 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.1 seconds.

The Japanese sports car packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine borrowed from a Lancer Evo VIII and boosted to 440 PS (434 hp / 324 kW). It tips the scales at 1,451 kg (3,200 lbs) and sends its torque to all four wheels through a manual transmission.

How did the comparison go? Not in favor of the Eclipse, to say the list. In the initial two runs, it was completely outclassed by the Cybertruck. The Hoonigan crew then put five passengers into the truck and gave the Eclipse a body-long head start, but the result was pretty much the same.
