Infiniti unveils all-electric SUV concept called QX Inspiration

Visitors to the ongoing Detroit Motor Show can visit the Infiniti booth for a glimpse of an all-elelctric SUV prototype called the Infiniti QX Inspiration. The car has been approved for production and will mostly compete with Tesla models when it hits the market in 2021.

As a so-called design study, the car strives to reflect what Infiniti designers plan on making all of the brand’s future releases look like. The SUV is 4,650 (15 ¼ ft.) long and has no radiator grille, short overhangs, ‘squinting’ LED headlights, 22-inch rims, a panoramic roof, wide fenders and video cameras acting as side mirrors.

The body of the Infiniti QX Inspiration Concept wears a Liquid White paintjob, which reportedly corresponds to the color of snow on Mount Fuji.

The interior space of the prototype vehicle is dominated by an enormous touchscreen display which provides access to most of the electric car’s functions.

The car is propelled forward by means of two electric motors, but detailed specs like power, acceleration and driving range remain undisclosed.

As mentioned above, the Japanese luxury car manufacturer plans to launch mass production of its electrified vehicle lineup in 2021.
