Ford unveils the Mondeo/Taurus facelift in China

Ford has officially introduced the refreshed version of its Taurus sedan/saloon in China. The same car is being marketed as the Ford Mondeo in Europe; and while the USA also have a Mondeo, that one comes based on an old and currently obsolete D3 car architecture.

The new Taurus for China comes based on an extended version of the Fusion CD4 platform and is marginally longer and wider than its predecessor. It also looks fairly more modern and style-conscious. The wheelbase stays the same.

Exterior changes include a chrome-coated hexagonal front grille, and new headlights along with elongated LED-based turn blinkers.

The rear fascia is where the most noticeable changes are. There are brand-new LED taillights connected visually by means of a chrome bar. The wheels are also new.

The cabin of the refreshed Ford Taurus remains a mystery right now.

As for the engines, chances are good that the updated sedan/saloon ships with a few 2.0-liter turbos to choose among, rated at 245 hp / 183 kW max.
