Toyota alters its Corolla Cross slightly for Vietnam launch

When Toyota unveiled its new Corolla Cross SUV in early July, it initially showed us the Thailand version of it. Today, Vietnam spec joins the range with some minor design revisions.

The main technical difference is that the Vietnam version has the steering wheel at the left side of the cabin while the Thailand one is RHD. Other than that, there are new decorative moldings on the radiator grille, rear bumper, anti-fog light bezels and trunk lid. Toyota points out that these details come finished in chrome on standard IC cars and painted blue on hybrids.

The Corolla Cross family is expecting a Latin American version to join it sometime in 2021 with a few new engine options. Among other things, Toyota promises a 2.0-liter gasoline engine rated at 177 hp (132 kW) and multi-link rear suspension. All-wheel drive isn’t mentioned, but will likely be present, too.
