Lexus unveils the LC Aviation & RC Emotional Ash

The Japanese luxury carmaker has come out with two special editions of its coupe models: the LC Aviation, which is obviously airplane-themed, and Emotional Ash, which features ash wood inserts in the cabin.

The LC Aviation will come out in a limited run of 70 units, and all buyers will get invitations to a special presentation event featuring Yoshihide Muroi, a pro pilot who assisted in designing the model.

This one gets a dark radiator grille encased in a Jet Black frame, 21-inch wheels, tinted windows and a carbon0fiber roof. Customers can choose from three body colors (black, silver and white). The carbon-fiber rear wing has its side winglets facing down, mimicking the same winglet arrangement on airplanes. The manufacturer claims this translates into precise steering and improved straight-line stability.

Crack open the door to see black Alcantara covering the wheel, the center tunnel, the gear shifter, the ceiling and the pillars. Look down at the sill plates to find carbon decals with the special series logo printed on them.

The Aviation ships in two specs. One is the LC 500h, which is a hybrid based on a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 359 hp (268 kW) and 500 Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque. The other one is the LC 500, which relies on a 5.0-liter V8 good for 477 hp (356 kW) and 540 Nm (400 lb-ft).

The RC Emotional Ash comes with a black grille, 19-inch F Sport wheels, black mirror caps and exhaust tip inserts and ash wood details inside. It also boasts leather-wrapped bucket seats adorned with silvery stitching and an 8-inch digital dash.

The Ash comes in three variants: RC 350, RC300 h and RC 300.
