Five-door Suzuki Jimny sells like hot cakes in Japan
The longer and more practical Suzuki Jimny Nomade was only introduced last week, but has already become a sales hit on the domestic market.
Despite being made in India, the Nomade has attracted around 50,000 pre-orders from customers in Japan in just four days. Suzuki’s original plans envisioned making just 1,200 Nomade units per month, or 14,400 per year, so it’s a three-year-plus backorder queue we are talking about here.
Shocked with this turn of events, Suzuki had to put all further preorders on halt and cancel all planned promo events as it began looking for ways to meet the existing demand instead.
