Nissan has unveiled the fifth entry in its Hyper vehicle lineup. Dubbed Hyper Force, the model has 1,360 PS (1,341 hp / 1,000 kW) at its disposal and offers Augmented Reality features while paying homage to the iconic GT-R series.
Some hints can be found in the brutal-looking exterior. The overall shape of the body and the taillights resemble those of the GT-R, and a pixelated image at the front looks vaguely similar to the current GT-R badge. The bodywork and the wheels, as well as the seats inside are all made of carbon.
Another reference is hidden in the electronic preset names: one is called GT and prioritizes comfort, while the other one is named R and delivers track-level performance. Depending on the mode chosen, the displays around the steering wheel shuffle around automatically for optimal view. The ambient lighting also changes accordingly. The company says drivers can use the screens to change suspension and stabilization settings on the go.
A VR helmet is provided with the car that lets you drive it at a virtual racing circuit using the actual steering wheel and pedals of the Hyper Force Concept. Other players can join in their own cars, or you can race against AI bots. Nissan argues that integrating a sim rig into a supercar may let drivers hone their skills without moving from the spot.
