Toyota has announced a forthcoming debut of two special Yaris GR versions dedicated to its rally team’s star drivers – Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä. Only 100 cars will be made in each limited edition for Japan only.
Both ride on 18-inch wheels. The Ogier Edition features an exclusive matte livery and blue brake calipers, while the Rovanperä Edition is inspired by the colors of that driver’s racing helmet. Both cars also get a uniquely shaped rear wing and interior trim themed after the driver’s countries of origin – France and Finland, respectively.
The original GR Yaris supports three drive modes called Standard, Gravel and Asphalt. The Ogier Edition replaces the latter two with new presets called Morizo and Seb, both designed with active participation of Ogier himself. The Rovanperä Edition gets a similar makeover with Donut and Kalle presets. These mainly dictate how the torque gets distributed between the axles and when/how the differentials are applied.
The transmission is six-speed manual. All prices are pending.
