Zeekr has opened the preorder books for its facelifted 001 hatchback. The five-door electric vehicle hasn’t changed at all on the outside, but can now be optioned with up to 925 PS (912 hp / 680 kW). Offline sales start on October 4, and the full prices are still pending.
The entry-level Zeekr 001 now commands 503 PS (496 hp / 370 kW), a serious improvement over the old version’s 422 PS (416 hp / 310 kW). It still has only one electric motor, but comes with two battery sizes to choose from. The 95-kWh pack yields up to 710 km (441 miles) per charge, while the 103-kWh one is good for 810 km (503 miles). Regardless of any other parameters, the top speed stays capped at 280 km/h (174 mph).
If you want AWD, then the 925-PS car mentioned above is your go-to spec. It packs more than a hundred extra horsepower compared to its predecessor and sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.83 seconds, being barely slower than the track-focused Zeekr 001 FR. With the batteries mentioned above, it gets either 640 or 762 km (397 or 473 miles) of range per charge.
In earlier anouncements, Zeekr confirmed that the new 001 model would support 900V electrics for faster charging. The company also said all cars would be obtainable with the latest G-Pilot H7 package based on the Nvidia Tor-U chipset capable of 700 TOPS. That’s a massive performance boost for the on-board assistance systems and safety features.
Last but not least, the automaker mentioned air-ride suspension with 85 mm (3.3 inches) of clearance adjustment range. Lifting it to the max gives you 206 mm (8.05 inches) of clearance.
Zeekr has yet to announce an update coming to its extreme 001 FR hatchback, but the media in China quote unofficial reports saying that one is already underway. The new 001 FR is expected to have more than 2,000 horsepower (1,500 kilowatts) at the wheels, falling just slightly behind the recently announced Yangwang U9 Xtreme with its 3,019 PS (2,978 hp / 2,220 kW).
