2026 Hongqi HS3 lands in China with more range and features

Hongqi has refreshed its HS3 lineup with slight design tweaks, more trim options and slightly better range in all-electric mode. Customers in China can get the SUV in two variants – standard and the 2 Millionth Commemorative Edition.

The only powertrain available is plug-in hybrid. It combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with a single electric motor. The former contributes 159 PS (157 hp / 117 kW) and the latter 228 PS (225 hp / 168 kW). An improved LFP battery pack stores up to 18.4 kilowatt-hours of energy and translates into 125 km (77 miles) of all-electric range, up from 113 km (70 miles).

A larger radiator grille and a LiDAR installed behind the number plate sum up the exterior changes. Inside, the digital dash now resides on a 12.3-inch screen and the infotainment system uses a marginally bigger 12.6-inch touch panel. The driver’s seat now memorizes its position and comes with massagers, and the digital rearview mirror can automatically switch into parking mode when reversing. Last but not least, the interior is now available in a new shade called Pomegranate Red.

With a sufficiently fast charger, the new Hongqi HS3 needs 18 minutes to get from 30 to 80%. The 2 Millionth Commemorative Edition is just a premium trim with more included features that the company decided to launch after shipping its 2,000,000th vehicle.
