Lamborghini has more plans for cross-country supercars

The rugged and raised Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato was one of the Italian marque’s most unexpected premieres of the past several years. The Huracan model is no longer in production, but the company says it wants to “continue this tradition” of sending supercars off the grid.

The corresponding statement comes from the company’s Chief Sales Officer Federico Foschini. He points out that special editions of Lamborghini’s latest production cars have great potential, and that the Huracan Sterrato didn’t quite unlock all of that potential. The company is willing to try again with an even more capable off-road supercar later on, especially since now it knows there’s enough demand for it.

In all likelihood, Foschini referred to the Temerario, the ideological successor to the Huracan. Then again, the SUV-shaped Urus and the part-electric Revuelto are both solid contenders for the off-road conversion, too. The 1,080-PS (1,065-hp / 794-kW) supercar recently introduced as the Lamborghini Fenomeno was actually a modified Revuelto, so nothing prevents the company from molding it into a rally machine. We also suppose that a track-focused RWD variant of the Temerario may be planned somewhere down the line.
