This 6x6 Porsche 911 GT3 will offend purists

Alexandre Danton, a French-born tuner with a penchant for turning rare and desirable vehicles like the Ferrari Testarossa and the Humvee into tri-axle monsters, has gotten his hands onto a Porsche 911 GT3. It is now underway to a full powertrain swap and 6x6 drive system.

Based on the photos and videos available thus far, it looks like the car is changing into all-new carbon-fiber bodywork. It looks downright brutal compared to stock, especially so if you include the slammed suspension. It’s still up in the air what kind of engine will power this 911 GT3, but we hear that the stock flat-six with its 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) is gone for good. For all we know, Danton has a Hemi V8 to try and stuff into the engine bay at the back.

In the meantime, the project is still very much a work in progress. Generously flared fenders, visible seams from welding and an all-new rear end make us suspect that the result won’t resemble the original at all. Then again, it probably doesn’t matter. If Danton can get the car ready in time for the SEMA show, we’ll be looking forward to it.
